general operation
Sometimes I need to move my Disc Manager 100 from place to place, but I noticed that my discs are becoming a little marked.
The Disc Manager 100 is designed to remain in one place. Because it is light weight and easy to move from one location to another, you may wish to do this. However we advise against doing this on a regular basis. Also, if a unit is moved, be sure to keep the unit in an upright position at all times, so that the discs inside don’t get dislodged from the carousel slots.

My disc comes up in OpdiTracker as "Unknown" in the stored discs and I can't eject or remove it.
- Rename the "unknown" disc record as another name (e.g. Temp1).
- Insert any disc you have into the Disc Manager 100 and select Temp1 from the list.
- The "Temp1" disc will now appear in a "Stored" state inside the unit.
- Right click on the disc and then select "Eject and Remove" from the File menu.
- Remove the disc from the gate.
The unknown disc record should now disappear.

Can I transfer discs from an inactive Disc Manager 100?
You will need to remove the top cover of the old Disc Manager 100 and manually take out the discs from the unit. When these discs are inserted into the new replacement unit, make sure you tick the box on the bottom left of the Disc Inserted image labeled "Show discs from inactive units". Note that when you insert a disc into the Disc Manager 100, the box will be greyed out unless the "Return" button is selected (it greys out for "Add" and "Eject").
Now you can reinsert the disc even though you are not in the Ejected Discs folder and without having to re-catalogue each one. You will then be able to delete the old unit as it will be seen as having no discs inside (as all discs are now in the new unit).

When using OpdiTracker in Explore mode, some of the items in the tree do not appear to be correct (i.e. incorrect icons, invalid names, etc.).
Collapse the entire tree under 'My Computer' by clicking on the minus sign (-) next to 'My Computer' or by right-clicking on 'My Computer' within the tree and selecting 'Collapse'. Once the tree is expanded again, the items under OpdiTracker should be valid.
Alternatively, close down Windows Explorer and open the main OpdiTracker window again.

Why are the pages of the report I am trying to print coming out incorrectly?
Check the print settings within OpdiTracker. The settings or print options button will be located on the same screen as the print button. Verify that you can print from other applications. Also, check the print settings through the windows “Start” menu (click Settings, Printers).

How do I shut down the OpdiTracker software in Windows?
Right-click on the OpdiTracker icon in the System Tray (on the lower right side of the screen). Select Close to shut down the application. OpdiTracker can be restarted from the Programs menu, or it will restart automatically the next time you log on.
return to FAQ list
Why is the Verify Unit option shadowed out in the OpdiTracker menu?
This option is disabled for units that are not currently communicating with the OpdiTracker software (e.g. those that are disconnected, or have lost USB connectivity for some reason).

Can I transport a unit with discs loaded in it?
Yes you can, although you need to be careful. Commercial carriers, such as airlines and couriers, can occasionally handle items without due care. Such handling is unlikely to damage the unit itself, but may cause damage to the discs inside. We recommend against frequent travel for the Disc Manager 100.

How do I stop the OpdiTracker software from starting automatically each time I log on to Windows?
OpdiTracker restarts each time the system is logged on or rebooted because there is an entry in the Windows "Startup" group. Remove the icon for the shortcut to stop this from happening. The specific location will differ depending on which Windows operating system you are using.

Can I password protect discs by user or group profiles? Is this integrated into Windows security or will I have to set up separate groups?
With the Pro Upgrade software, you can password protect access at either a disc, unit or entire system level. Additionally, each of these levels has a Security tab just like Windows where you can set access levels.
The standard edition of OpdiTracker software allows you to password protect disc access for the entire unit contents only.

Can I create a tower comprised of both Disc manager 100 units and the similar looking Imation disc Stakkas?
NO, the automated connector mechanisms are different. However you could operate separate towers (one comprised of up to 5 Disc Manager 100’s and the other comprised of up to 5 Disc Stakka’s) because both utilise the exact same OpdiTracker software.
The primary difference between the two systems is the interconnecting mechanism, which is slightly different.
