Operation: Maintaining the database
How can I schedule an automated backup of my OpdiTracker database?
Using the system backup utilities, you will need to backup the file called OpdiTracker.mdb which is located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Opdicom\OpdiTracker for Windows XP and Windows 2000).
For Windows Vista, it’s located in C:\program data \ opdicom\ opditracker.
And for Apple Mac OS X users, it’s under /library/applicationsupport/opdicom.
You can then back-up to run at Daily, Weekly, Monthly intervals or upon system start-up.

How do I restore a backup copy of my database?
Use OpdiTracker's Database Wizard to restore database details.
See the online help for complete instructions.
CAUTION:
When you restore a database, OpdiTracker first deletes its existing database. It then recreates the database containing only the details
from the restored database.
Note:
If you have made changes to contents of the database (for example: modified Properties or inserted or ejected discs), the related information may be lost. We recommend that you verify your disc titles before using your system again.

Every time I insert a disc into my drive, Windows begins to act on it automatically. Since I only want to capture the contents for the OpdiTracker database, is there some way I can stop this from happening?
To temporarily prevent Windows taking this action (called Autorun),
press SHIFT when the disc is inserted into the drive. To make the change permanent for specific types of discs, right-click on the drive in Windows Explorer, choose Properties, and then select the type of disc and the desired behavior (Note: This function is not available on all operating systems).

I had to format my hard drive and reinstall the OpdiTracker software. Can I get my data back?
If you have backed up your entire system recently, the best solution is to retrieve and restore this backup. This allows you to return the system to the same state as it was at the time of the last backup. Follow the instructions of your backup application to restore all files from the backup.
If you have a backup of the OpdiTracker database, you can restore this using the OpdiTracker Maintenance Wizard. Run any updates required to make sure that the version of the software is the same as it was at the time of the last backup. Then restore the database to your system. See the online help for instructions.
If you want to restore just the OpdiTracker database from a backup, it is typically located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Opdicom\OpdiTracker for Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems.
For Windows Vista, it’s under C:\programdata\opdicom\opditracker.
For Mac OS X, it’sunder /Library/Application Support/ Opdicom.
Copy all the contents of this directory to have the database reflect
the state at the time of the back- up.
Note:
If you have made changes to contents of the database (for example modified Properties or inserted or ejected discs), the related information may be lost. We recommend that you verify your disc titles before using your system again.
