Operation: Searching for discs
How do I search more than one Disc
Manager 100 unit at a time?
If you are using the Windows Standard or Apple Mac editions of the OpdiTracker software, you can search only one Disc Manager 100
unit at a time.
If you upgrade to the Windows Pro edition of OpdiTracker, you can
select to search all units or all connected units in a single operation.
The Pro (Professional) edition of OpdiTracker provides other advanced features including additional search and reporting functionality, and advanced security and password settings.

Can I search a disc's content to see whether it contains a specific file or folder?
Yes.
In addition to searching for discs, you can also search for files and folders stored on a disc, for which you have captured Content details.
- Locate the disc in either Windows Explorer or OpdiTracker Search.
- Right-click the disc, and then click “Search”. This causes the disc's name to be displayed in the "Search In" field in the Search window.
Type the file or folder name, and then click “Search Now” to find occurrences of that name on the selected disc.

Why do some searches take a considerable time to complete?
The more Search options you select, the longer your search will take.
In particular, using the Content and Comments fields will slow
down your search.
It's a good idea to select only those options you need. For example, if you know the name of the disc you want to locate, the quickest way to find it is to search for 'Disc Title' only, making sure that all other search options are deselected.
If you want the ability to further refine your search criteria, consider upgrading to the OpdiTracker Pro Version software, which includes these added capabilities.

Why does my search appear to be ignoring some of my discs or Disc Manager 100 units?
This may occur if your search terms are too broad.
When OpdiTracker performs a search, as soon as it finds 10,000 matches, the search completes and results are returned. If your search terms are too broad, the 10,000 matches may be found before all discs or Disc Manager 100 units are searched.
If your results show that 10,000 matches were found, try to refine your search so that you achieve a smaller, more targeted result. For example, try to deselect search options that you don't require.
The OpdiTracker search tool in the Standard version only searches one unit at a time. If you have multiple Disc Manager 100s, the disc or file you are looking for could be in another unit, other than that specified in your search. The OpdiTracker Pro Version software allows you to span searches across all units simultaneously.
Alternatively, a search problem may occur if all units are not properly connected, and you've done a search in OpdiTracker Pro across only the Active units.

How do I find out which ejected discs
are overdue?
The fastest way to search for all overdue discs (that is, ejected discs not returned by their due date) is to leave the Search Text field blank, and then deselect all search options except for Date/Overdue.
Note:
This option is available only if you are using the Pro version of the OpdiTracker software.
