Troubleshooting: Disc Manager 100 hardware

What does it mean if my Disc Manager 100
LED is flashing or not lit?

The LED (light) next to the Disc Manager 100 gate confirms the unit's operation status:

If the LED is on
This is the default state. It means that the OpdiTracker software
is running and the Disc Manager 100 is ready.

If the LED is off
This means that the Disc Manager 100 is not ready.
Check the following to determine where the problem lies:

  • Make sure the Disc Manager 100 is properly plugged in.
Check that the USB cable is firmly inserted into both the host computer (either directly or through a USB hub) as well as into the Disc Manager 100.

  • Make sure the computer is turned on and active.
If your computer is asleep, shut down or otherwise not accepting data input, your Disc Manager 100 will be inactive.

  • Make sure the OpdiTracker software is running.
    Open the OpdiTracker application window.

  • Make sure the unit is recognized by the OpdiTracker software. In Windows Explorer or the OpdiTracker application window, make sure the unit is displayed in the list and not grayed out. If the unit is shown as active, it may have a faulty LED. Unplug the USB cable from the unit, and then reconnect it to reinitialize the unit.
  • If the unit is not visible or is grayed out, the USB port may not be working. Test the USB port by connecting another USB device to it (such as a mouse or keyboard), or try connecting the unit to a different USB port (either a powered hub or directly to the computer).

  • If the USB port is faulty, refer to the operating system's troubleshooting tools or contact the supplier of your system.

  • If the USB port is not faulty, you may have a faulty Disc Manager 100 unit. Contact our Customer Support team for further instruction and testing/repair advice or return the unit to the place of purchase to arrange to have the unit  replaced under warranty.

If the LED is flashing

  • The LED flashes slowly (e.g. on one second, off one second)
The Disc Manager 100 unit is busy or full. Allow time for the current operation to complete. If the LED continues to flash, the Disc Manager 100 is full.

  • The LED flashes quickly (e.g. on half a second, off half a second)
There is a Disc Manager 100 error. View the error details to determine what action to take.

  • The LED flashes intermittently (e.g. on two seconds, off half a second). The Disc Manager 100 is properly connected but the OpdiTracker software is not running.

I have a large number of units in several towers connected via powered USB hubs. Why are they intermittently dropping out?

Check that the power packs supply an adequate amount of power (they need to be more than 500mA per port plus an additional 300mA for
the Hub).
